Assietta Road

The ordinary maintenance operations of the dirt road have been completed, and the summer reopening of the Provincial Road No. 173 of the Assietta at high altitude is confirmed for Wednesday, July 1.
The SP 173 will remain open from July 1 to October 31, unless emergencies caused by bad weather or early snowfall make circulation unsafe.

Access is prohibited for vehicles with a full load mass exceeding 3.5 tons and a width greater than 2 meters. For cars, the speed limit is 30 km/h, and overtaking and parking outside designated parking areas are prohibited.
Complete closure to motorized traffic is scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM on Wednesdays and Saturdays in July and August, except for an exemption on the occasion of the Festa del Piemonte, which in 2026 is planned for Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19.

The dates of closure to motorized traffic are therefore as follows: Wednesday 1, Saturday 4, Wednesday 8, Saturday 11, Wednesday 15, Wednesday 22, Saturday 25, and Wednesday 29 July; Saturday 1, Wednesday 5, Saturday 8, Wednesday 12, Saturday 15, Wednesday 19, Saturday 22, Wednesday 26, and Saturday 29 August.

On the same days, thanks to the BiodivTourAlps Project, there will be informational services provided by the Parchi Alpi Cozie guides at the Gates of Assietta (Col Basset and Pian dell'Alpe).
