Mask in Dance - Choir of Mezzenile
On Sunday, March 8th at 5 PM in Vaie at the
Sala Specchi on Via Forno, a musical theater performance Masquë en dansa with Ugo Ala and the Mezzenile choir.
A magical journey through the Lanzo valleys and the Francoprovençal and Occitan lands: dances, ballads, and ancient tales intertwine with the original music of Ugo Ala. An experience between tradition and enchantment, accompanied by the masquë and the countë dedicated to them.
The musical project conceived by Maestro Ugo Ala takes us on a journey through the wonders of some of our alpine valleys, the Lanzo Valleys. Guided by the figure of Count Luigi Francesetti, we rediscover the ancient traditions of the countë - the folk tales passed down from generation to generation - through original melodies and ballads inspired by the sounds typical of the Francoprovençal musical world.
At the center of the project emerges the figure of the masquë, an essential element of the oral tradition of our valleys, whose echo still resonates today in the language and daily life of our local communities, also through new pieces played and songs in the Francoprovençal language.
Music, words, and dance thus merge into an immersive experience that invites us to rediscover the charm and vitality of an ancient world, yet still remarkably alive.
